The PUPPIES have arrived, born July 29-30th!
Brooks is a handsome, accomplished, and proven sire who never meets a stranger, human or canine. He is very happy, friendly, and generally laid-back, unless there’s a lure moving – then he’s all keen excitement! We are thrilled to have the honor of adding Brooks pups to our Longrun family, and grateful to owners Sabine Salo of Rantina Whippets, and Jan Swayze Curry and Grahm Miller of Longlesson Kennels. Brooks is OFA cardiac normal; his eyes test free of heritable diseases and are normal apart from scaring due to an injury.

Mercy is our resident princess – just ask her! This elegant, split-faced beauty is not just another pretty face: she has plenty of personality and is also very keen on the lure, although she hasn’t had many opportunities due to concentrating on preparation for dog shows. She had a very bad experience at a show early on, and absolutely hated them for a long time, but with gentle encouragement, careful attention to where we took her, and much TLC, she has come out of that and done some nice winning. Mercy finished her UKC championship with nice Group placements, and needs only one major to finish her AKC Championship. She has had some memorable successes, including a placement at an AWC National Specialty and a Bred By Exhibitor Best In Show at a huge all-breed show! Many thanks to our dear friends Mary Magee (SaeSi), and Jarnell Carter and Gary Wimberly (Xzotika) for your indispensable help with bringing out the best in our little diva! Mercy is BAER (hearing), OFA Eyes, and OFA Cardiac (echo) normal.
*Mercy earned her AKC bench Championship with a major win after her maternity break, and her 6-month-old daughter, Longrun’s Wonder Woman, was Reserve Winners to her!

- June 29, 2016 – At about 5 weeks in whelp, there’s a distinct un-tucking of Mercy’s tuck-up!
- July 6, 2016 – about 6 weeks in whelp. She’s so WIDE! Her ribs have really sprung out, and you can see how the weight is already effecting her topline.
- Another from July 6th, demonstrating how Mercy felt about my trying to stack her. She wouldn’t stay still, and obviously wanted to return to her cushy bed.
- July 13, 2016, about 7 weeks in whelp, and expanding nicely!
- An”out-take” from July 13, but I like how she’s holding her head better. She has completely forgotten that she’s a show dog, and won’t stay still!
- July 19, 2016 – 8 weeks along, and getting very REAL! It’s unbelievable how W-I-D-E she is!
- July 26, 2016, day 63 from the first breeding of this gorgeous pair. Poor Mercy must be wondering what in the world is going on, but she’ll soon be a very proud mama. I can hardly wait!
- Mercy presented us with nine beautiful puppies, 4 girls & 5 boys, beginning late on July 29th! Mama and pups are doing fine, pictured on the afternoon of July 30th.
Note: there is a waiting list for this litter, so availability depends on how many puppies we get. Serious show or performance inquiries are always welcome. See the “Available Whippets” page for contact information.
